One of the greatest feelings in the world is finishing the work day, coming home, and not having to worry about workouts, or practice. WRONG! We think now that we have done all the hard work, we can sit back and relax. “I’ve played so many years, I deserve this break.” You don’t deserve shit, not yet anyway. I thought like this my first two months and it created a sense of complacency that I’ve never felt before. I’m like “Wow, I can go throughout the day without meetings or coaches on my ass about practice or workouts, this is the life!” We can’t think like this. We have to hold ourselves accountable now. We have to workout after work because our nature is being in shape and being competitive. Why would we succumb to the “Regular” people life? No sir, we are here to lead and continue developing our skill set in the world. So you hit the gym, you read a book, listen to a podcast, eat your meal prep for dinner, and you go to bed before 11pm. If you can workout between 4-6am all power to you, I’ve done it. It’s a grind but the hardest part of your day is over and you feel like a superhero being up before anyone else. Just make sure you are staying active after the workday. Continue to improve and develop. That promotion, that pretty girl, or handsome guy, could be that much within reach if you continue to work on yourself. I’ve got plenty of books to read when first starting out, reach out to me know what those are.
