Welcome to the World

I never thought that I would do anything other than play football. Even though I knew the NFL or any other league wasn’t in the cards for me, I somehow believed that football would just be my life. Did I have an awakening sheesh! I chose Psychology as my major because I wanted to help people that were less fortunate than me. After a successful internship and graduation, I was ready find a career in Kansas City. I found a job but I couldn’t start until mid- June, and I didn’t have an apartment in KC but thank goodness my then gf (Now wife) Eryn had an apartment that I can stay in. Trust me we’ll get into relationships later. Make sure when you are a senior you lock down an apartment or place to stay upon your start date at your new job. That means having 2 months worth of rent, finding a place where 30% of your monthly income can go to your rent comfortably, not too far from your job so gas doesn’t become an issue, and hopefully not in bad area where your car can get broken into. It is smart to negotiate a start date with you employer as well because you want to make sure to start at the beginning of the pay period, that way when rent is due you don’t have to ask you mom for help (Like me), or dip into your savings (We’ll talk about this later). After living out of my car and with Eryn for 2 weeks, I finally got an apartment and was ready for my first day of work. I was on the phone with my mom this whole period because I didn’t know what I was doing. I figured it out but I knew this was just the beginning to real life for people.
